Step in from the November twilight and enter the musical world of 16th- and 17th-century England. The warm tones of the viola da gamba and the soprano voice transport us to a time when consort music was played both at royal courts and in the homes of friends and families.
The programme features music by John Dowland, Thomas Morley, Thomas Tallis, Thomas Lupo and Tobias Hume, among others.
Performers include soprano Heini Ernamo, who specialises in early music, and Wasa Consort, an ensemble consisting of two bass viols (Eero Marttila and Elena Hämäläinen) and a violone (Pontus Grans).
